Materials

  • Transmitter

  1. Choose what color gels you want to shoot (complementary and monochromatic colors usually look the best)

  2. Put the color gels on the lights

3. Pull down either the black or gray/white backdrops (black absorbs the light and white reflects it)

4. Have the model sit centered in front of the backdrop

5. Place one of the colored lights directly behind the model and face the light toward the backdrop so it colors in the background

6. Place the other light on either the right or left side of the model and point the light toward the model’s face

7. Make sure the camera is connected to both lights

8. Stand in front of the model and start taking pictures of them

9. Adjust the brightness of the colors and edit in Lightroom if needed
