HOW TO DISTORT IMAGES USING A FISHEYE LENS AND WATERVASE

Materials

  • Water vase

  • Fisheye lens

  • Backdrop

  • Model

  • Studio lighting

  • Canon camera

Process

  1. Setup studio with two studio lights (one directly in front of subject and the second one directly to the side of the subject)

  2. Attach fisheye lens to camera

  3. Place vase 2-3 feet in front of subject

  4. Have subject stand behind the vase and move yourself accordingly

  5. Once you have obtained your desired images, place images in lightroom to edit lighting & and place into lightroom to get rid of any studio light marks that might be visible on the glass vase (this can be done using the heal tool)

Tips

  • Experiment! Utilize angles to distort the subject in different ways

  • Settings on camera can be tweaked depending on the type of image you are looking to shoot (long or short exposure)
