Setup:

1: Roll down the backdrop with the color of your choice 

2: Set up the one light octabox on the right center side of the subject. Have it an arms length and 5 inches away from your subject and about a foot taller than them. 

3: If wanted, set up a color gel that will highlight your subject best.

4: Put up a V flat on the left side of the subject where it is just out of camera view.  

5: Set up camera settings:

6: Start shooting!    

Model:

1: Make your model comfortable by relating to them and assuring them every one is awkward when getting their photo taken. 

2: Show them examples of how to pose, don’t just leave them hanging. This will create a more comfortable environment if they see you doing the poses too. 

3: After creating an enjoyable space, ask the model to pose naturally.

Canon camera (or any camera)

Subject

Colored backdrop

Octabox/Large softbox light

V flat
